Balloon game

Game 1 of 12 · about 3 min

Pump a balloon for money and bank it before it bursts. The colour hides the odds, so the only way to earn well is to learn each colour as you go.

Risk tolerance Impulsivity Pattern recognition

Unofficial practice. Not the real Pymetrics game and not connected to Pymetrics, Harver or any employer. Untimed, unlimited retries, nothing saved and nothing sent anywhere.

How it works

  1. Every pump adds 5 cents to the round.
  2. Bank at any time and the money for that round is yours.
  3. If the balloon bursts first, that round pays nothing.
  4. Colour signals the odds. One colour goes far, another pops early, and nobody tells you which.

What this game reads

It reads how much risk you take, and more importantly what you do after a burst. Someone who keeps pumping to the same point after three bursts looks very different from someone who pulls back once and then recalibrates.

About this game

Answered straight, including the parts people would rather hear differently.

No. The pattern of your choices is what gets read, not the total. Play the way you would actually play, because a strategy you had to fake will not survive the other eleven games.
You can, and it will be recorded as exactly that. Very low risk is not a safe answer, it is an answer. Some roles are matched to it and some are not.
