How the Pymetrics balloon game works

  1. 39 balloons, the same number as the official assessment.
  2. Every pump adds 5 cents to the round.
  3. Bank at any time and the money for that round is yours.
  4. If the balloon bursts first, that round pays nothing.
  5. Colour signals the odds. Three colours, three different ranges, and nobody tells you which is which.

What the balloon game measures

It reads how much risk you take, and more importantly what you do after a burst. Someone who keeps pumping to the same point after three bursts looks very different from someone who pulls back once and then recalibrates.

About the Pymetrics balloon game

39. Each pump is worth 5 cents and there are three balloon colours, each with its own hidden burst range. This practice run matches the official round count, the reward per pump and the number of colours, so the pacing and the fatigue of a full run are realistic.
No, and nobody can honestly claim otherwise. Pymetrics does not publish the burst probabilities for each colour, and the figures you see quoted on prep sites are illustrative rather than real. The ranges here are our own, chosen so the three colours behave clearly differently. What transfers is the mechanic and the habit of reading a colour from evidence, not a memorised number.
No. The pattern of your choices is what gets read, not the total. Play the way you would actually play, because a strategy you had to fake will not survive the other eleven games.
You can, and it will be recorded as exactly that. Very low risk is not a safe answer, it is an answer. Some roles are matched to it and some are not.
